Wedding veils come in different lengths. To determine the length that works best with your dress. One way to find out is to try on wedding veils at the same time you try on dresses. You can see what style of veil works best. Be sure you are wearing the same hairstyle you plan for your wedding day so you can see just how the veil looks.

Wedding Veil Glossary

Blusher : The blusher is elbow length, a single layer. This veil is worn over the face during the ceremony. It is customary for the groom or the father of the bride to flip it back, revealing the bride's lovely face, usually range from 25" to 35". The Blusher blushers should not be too long, It may be be difficult to lift during the marriage ceremony. The blusher is typically removed for the reception. The blusher can be worn with any wedding dress.

chapel : The chapel veil extends to the floor, flowing down 2 ½ yards from the headpiece. The chapel veil is usually worn in formal weddings with a chapel or sweep train.

Cathedral : The cathedral veil is the most formal veil. It extends 3 ½ yards from your headpiece, extends the length of the dress train by at least 6", and usually worn with a cathedral-length train. It can have multiple layers or a blusher veil.

Double-Tier : A double tier veil has two layers like the name suggests that usually extend to different lengths, one of which may be the blusher. Suit most brides.

Elbow : An elbow length veil extends down to your elbows, Elbow length veils is very popular for formal weddings, work well with a full skirt wedding dress.

Fingertip : This style extends to the fingertips, measure from where you are going to wear the veil on your head to your fingertips. A very popular length, can be worn with any wedding dress, particularly with ball gowns, A fingertip veil is not for brides under 5'4"

Mantilla : Mantilla is a Spanish veil style, long veil, often made of lace, veil drapes over the head to varying lengths. A headpiece isn’t necessary to keep it in place.

Pouf : The pouf veil is a gathered material fastens to a headpiece or comb to create height for the veil, add character to the hairstyle and headpiece. It is usually about 3" height, but can be as large as 6" to 8", generally made of tulle or netting, worn with an informal wedding dress.

Waltz : Waltz Veil is long veil, falls from your headpiece down to your ankle, usually 54" to 60", another option if you prefer a long veil and your dress does not have a train. This veil is sometimes called a Ballet veil.

Wedding Veil Colours

White : White veil usually wear on Traditional white wedding gowns.
Diamond white : This veil colour goes well with natural silk wedding gowns.
Ivory : This veil colour goes with ivory wedding gowns. Don’t choose an ivory veil for a white dress.
